A word from the President:
Dear proprietors, dear friends,
In spite of the willingness and the efforts of the Steering Committee, we have not been able to provide you with news of the Entity any sooner due
to lack of information. However today we can announce that the Convention that links us to Pratdip town hall was signed on Friday February 19th 2010. It was a long and laborious process
but we have now taken the major step which will undoubtedly change a lot of things in life in Planas del Rey. We will of course keep you informed of the calendar of events as soon as they
have been established by the Town Hall and the Steering Committee.
Christian Peuman
A word from the Mayor:
Dear co proprietors, dear friends of «Planes del Rei»
Just a few words to express the satisfaction of Pratdip Town Hall that the Convention could be signed, which will allow you
to progress firmly towards the re-Urbanisation of Planas and the definitive integration into our Municipality.
We are also happy to inform you that we have obtained 240.000 € in
subsidies from the Generalitat de Cataluña which will entirely benefit this Urbanisation, to help with the burden of the procedures we are starting at this moment.
Regards
Josep Montané i Vidal
Alcalde
Election of the Steering Committee
At the General Assembly of August 2010 the Steering Committee will need to be re-elected as stated in the byelaws.
We ask that anyone who would like to present themselves at the
election to become part of the Steering Committee to fill out the slip below, sign it and return it before June 1st 2010 in order to allow us to add the list of candidates to the summons to
the General Assembly in August 2010.
People who would like to present a different list can do so by sending a complete list (at least 12 names) so we can add it to the summons as
well.
It goes without saying that only owners who have paid all their charges can be considered for these positions!
Subsidy
On January 8 2010 Pratdip Town Hall has obtained a subsidy of 240.000 € allocated exclusively to Planas del Rey. We hope similar good tidings will follow soon.
Charges 2009/2010
A rumour was spread by a group of owners who call themselves « SOS Planas » which has incited the house owners in Planas to not pay their communal charges. This group also denies the
existence of the community and has asked the Town Hall to dissolve the Urban Entity. On January 5 2010 this has been rejected by the Town Hall, who confirmed the texts of the
applicable laws.
On the other hand, some owners have still not paid their charges, for different reasons. At this moment 71 owners haven’t paid their charges 2009/2010 for a total
amount of 71 720 € which are sorely missed in the Entity’s cash till.
A list of these debtors will be added to the summons to the General Assembly of August 2010.
Storms 2009 & 2010
As you may remember, the storm in January 2009 caused serious damages in Planas del Rey. After negotiations which lasted almost a year the insurance company has paid us the sum of
10 000 €.
This year we have not been safe from storms either, during the night of 14 to 15 January 2010 a new storm has uprooted trees in some gardens, and telephone, electricity and
lighting cables have been cut. The rapid intervention of the fire department, as well as Telefonica and Fecsa ensured we suffered minimum discomfort.
Weather station
Considering the weather conditions in recent years, the Steering Committee has deemed it necessary to install two weather stations, in an effort to gather more significant arguments for the insurance companies, who in the past have tried to diminish the amounts due to lack of proof (dates, times, wind speeds, etc.). The price of these weather stations is 1280€ each, including two anemometers.
Tourism
Less then an hour away, we recommend a visit to the Chartreuse of l’Escala Dei and the remains of an old abbey with a guided tour in several languages. The village of Siurana sitting
on impressive cliffs. The village of Horta de San Juan and it Picasso museum. Or the Miravet castle, accessible by barge on the Ebro River and it ceramics factory, and of course the Ebro
Delta, with Europe’s largest rice fields, bird reservation and sandy beaches.
Don’t forget Poblet and its magnificent Monastery, and a little closer to Barcelona, the abbey of
Montserrat with impressive views of Barcelona and surroundings.
